Notes

'Rubrum' comfrey (Symphytum rubrum 'Rubrum') is a perennial for borders, ground cover, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and wide, so it fills a space well. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and it also grows in acid, alkaline, or neutral soil.

Pairs well with Hardy geranium, Siberian iris, and Marsh spurge.
