Notes

'Goruzam' Japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii 'Goruzam') is a shrub for pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms a dense shape, blooms from early to late spring, and attracts bees and birds. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Drought and salt do not bother it.

Pairs well with Cheyenne Spirit echinacea, Indian grass, and Hyssop.
