Notes
'Grandiflora' smooth hydrangea (Hydrangea arborescens 'Grandiflora') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, hedges, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows fast into a clump with white flowers in early to late spring and early to late summer. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms.
Pairs well with Cinnamon fern, Switchgrass, and Northern bayberry.
