Notes

Ground cherry (Physalis pruinosa) is a perennial for containers and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and spreads 24 to 36 inches, so give it room. Bees visit the flowers, which open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn.

Pairs well with Borage, Calendula, and African marigold.
