Notes
'Toma Verde' tomatillo (Physalis philadelphica 'Toma Verde') is an annual for containers, low maintenance gardens, and food gardens. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It grows at a rapid rate and blooms from early to late summer. Bees visit the flowers. It is an early green tomatillo that also tolerates drought.
Pairs well with Ring of Fire sunflower, Ballerina zinnia, and Blue grama.
