Notes

'Hamabo' rose of sharon (Hibiscus syriacus 'Hamabo') is a shrub for pollinator gardens and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit it. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows fast, stands upright, and tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Buttonbush, Switchgrass, and Big bluestem.
