Notes

'Purple Pillar' rose of sharon (Hibiscus syriacus 'Purple Pillar') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil of most types. Its erect form grows fast, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit it. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Give it room to stretch tall.

Pairs well with Magnus coneflower, Border forsythia, and Arrowwood viburnum.
