Notes

'Red Heart' rose of sharon (Hibiscus syriacus 'Red Heart') is a shrub for hedges and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil. It grows fast, and bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit it. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It also tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Big bluestem, Columbine, and American holly.
