Notes

Rose of sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) is a shrub for borders, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil of most types. It grows fast and reaches 8 to 12 feet tall. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the pink flowers with red eyes.
