Notes
'Hearld Star' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Hearld Star') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double blooms are ivory white and large to extra large. Showy stamens fall like snow across the flower. Dr. John H. Neeley bred it in 1936.
Pairs well with Butterfly milkweed, Smooth aster, and Switchgrass.
