Notes

'Hillbilly' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Hillbilly') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its white blooms have candy stripes on some petals. It grows about 40 inches tall and blooms in late spring and early to mid summer. Myron D. Bigger bred it in 1963.

Pairs well with White snakeroot, Cinnamon fern, and Scentara Double Blue lilac.
