Notes

'Hillspire' red cedar (Juniperus virginiana 'Hillspire') is a tree for specimen planting, hedges, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It grows at a moderate rate into a dense, fragrant evergreen that is drought tolerant and salt tolerant.

Pairs well with Rheingold American arborvitae, Red fescue, and Redmond American linden.
