Notes

'Glauca' red cedar (Juniperus virginiana 'Glauca') is a tree for specimen planting, privacy screens, hedges, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil of most types. It grows at a moderate pace into a dense, evergreen shape with fragrant foliage. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Birds, bees, and butterflies visit it.

Pairs well with Arrowwood viburnum, Midwinter Fire common dogwood, and Variegata Japanese grass sedge.
