Notes

'Hoosierland' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Hoosierland') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears double red blooms in early to mid spring. The red foliage has an unusual mahogany color. Its stout stems stay short, so it works well where wind is a problem.

Pairs well with Monkshood, Tall fescue, and Cinnamon fern.
