Notes

'Hope' peony (Paeonia 'Hope') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, semi-double flowers are deep pink with a yellow center, and Saunders bred it in 1929. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Krossa Regal hosta, Stargazer lily, and Blue grama.
