Notes
'Hot Papaya' coneflower (Echinacea 'Hot Papaya') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Orange-red flowers bloom from early to late summer and are fragrant. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit them.
Pairs well with Blue fescue, Ironweed, and Purple Prince zinnia.
