Notes
'Hue and Cry' Japanese iris (Iris ensata 'Hue and Cry') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and wet soil. It blooms from early to late summer. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Cut the flowers for bouquets.
Pairs well with Ironweed, Fox sedge, and Red October big bluestem.
