Notes
'Hurricane' peony (Paeonia 'Hurricane') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double, fragrant blooms have petals that close in a swirling, overlapping way like camera shutters. Julian L. Janus bred it. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.
Pairs well with June hosta, White Swan coneflower, Nodding onion, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
