Notes

'Intense Orange' coneflower (Echinacea 'Intense Orange') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its fragrant blooms open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Yarrow, Bee balm, and Red-hot poker.
