Notes

Japanese fairy bells (Disporum smilacinum) is a perennial for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms from early to late spring. Plants spread about 12 inches wide, so they fill a shady spot slowly.

Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, Lady fern, and Jacob’s ladder.
