Notes

'Java' rose (Rosa 'Java') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. The upright shrub bears fragrant orange blooms in late spring, again in summer, and into early autumn. Bees visit the flowers. Charles Mallerin bred it in 1958.

Pairs well with Limelight hydrangea, Pink Hawaiian Coral peony, and Indian grass.
