Notes

'Jean Cowley' peony (Paeonia 'Jean Cowley') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant, bright rose flowers are semi-double and goblet shaped, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Saunders bred it in 1942.

Pairs well with Krossa Regal hosta, Charles Joly lilac, Blue grama, and Nodding onion.
