Notes

'Jessie' spring starflower (Ipheion uniflorum 'Jessie') is a bulb for borders, containers, rock gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Light violet-blue flowers can bloom for up to 8 weeks. Crushed foliage smells of onions. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Blue Shades Greek thimbleweed, Valerie Finnis Armenian grape hyacinth, and Stinking hellebore.
