Notes

'John’s Dream' peony (Paeonia 'John’s Dream') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, specimen planting, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its soft yellow bowl-shaped flowers measure 9 inches across. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. John Simkins bred it, and the plant stays green late into autumn even in drought.

Pairs well with Dense blazing star, Minuteman hosta, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
