Notes

'Kasan' scarlet firethorn (Pyracantha coccinea 'Kasan') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It is evergreen and drought tolerant, and bees and birds visit it. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Give the arching branches plenty of room to grow.

Pairs well with Brilliant sedum, Limelight hydrangea, and Fountain grass.
