Notes

Scarlet firethorn (Pyracantha coccinea) is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, borders, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It is evergreen with an arching habit and grows fast. White flowers attract bees, and birds visit the plant too. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Bridal wreath spiraea, Fountain grass, and Pink.
