Notes

'Red Cushion' scarlet firethorn (Pyracantha coccinea 'Red Cushion') is an evergreen shrub for hedges, privacy screens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Its arching, rapid growth fills space fast, and bees and birds visit it. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Once settled, it tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Brilliant sedum, Limelight hydrangea, and Fountain grass.
