Notes
'Katz Purple' stock (Matthiola incana 'Katz Purple') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It shrugs off cool spells and light frost, though a hard freeze will damage it. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer rarely make it their first choice. The purple blooms are fragrant and open in spring and again in summer. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers.
Pairs well with Bells of Ireland, Ornamental onion, and Japanese forest grass.
