Notes
'Kokurun Rui' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Kokurun Rui') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large flowers have a Japanese form and open in dark aster purple in mid season. The staminodes have yellow edges and light orange filaments. The plant is medium size and spreads, so give it room.
Pairs well with Siberian iris, New England aster, and Little bluestem.
