Notes
'Kost Yellow' sawara cypress (Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Kost Yellow') is a tree for borders, specimens, rock gardens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. It grows at a moderate rate to about 4 to 5 feet tall and wide. The evergreen needles keep color through winter, and the open habit looks good in a low maintenance bed.
Pairs well with Mugo pine, Blue fescue, and Earth Angel hosta.
