Notes

'Koster' Colorado spruce (Picea pungens 'Koster') is a tree for specimen planting, accent, privacy screen, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It grows slowly in a columnar shape and stays evergreen all year. Birds visit the tree.

Pairs well with Compactus winged spindle tree, Firewitch cheddar pink, and Stonecrop.
