Notes

'Kumasaka' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Kumasaka') is a shrub for borders and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet soil. The evergreen leaves look glossy and dark green. Flowers can appear in anemone, peony, or semi-double forms on the same plant. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Lady fern, Sweet bay magnolia, and Beautyberry.
