Notes

'Lavon' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Lavon') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, mildly fragrant pink flowers have a yellow collar and center. Strong, long stems hold the blooms well above the foliage, which makes it a good cutting flower. Don Hollingsworth bred it in 1993.

Pairs well with Hairy aster, Black Parrot tulip, and Kentucky bluegrass.
