'L’Illustration' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'L’Illustration') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double flowers are violet-rose. Cut the blooms for bouquets and plant it where you can enjoy them up close.

Pairs well with Standing Ovation little bluestem, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Blue Muffin arrowwood viburnum.
