Notes

'Lowell Thomas' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Lowell Thomas') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, dark crimson blooms open in early to mid spring on tall, erect, strong stems. The flowers are a semi-rose type with broad petals. The crimped foliage makes this peony easy to spot.

Pairs well with Wild ginger, Cinnamon fern, and Black Parrot tulip.
