Notes

'Madame Butterfly' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Madame Butterfly') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Rose-pink blooms with fuchsia shading open in early summer on upright plants. The Japanese type flowers are profuse and last well. Franklin bred it, and it reaches about 39 inches tall.

Pairs well with Pink Impression tulip, Blue sage, and Sensitive fern.
