Notes

'Madame de Montijo' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Madame de Montijo') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant flowers open in late spring. They have lilac-white outer petals and a collar of narrow cream-white petals. Jacques Foulard bred it.

Pairs well with Showy milkweed, Foxtail barley, Sensitive fern, and Pink Impression tulip.
