Notes

'Magenta Moon' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Magenta Moon') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. William Henry Krekler bred it. The semi-double magenta blooms are flat like a moon, about 6 inches wide, and slightly fragrant. It blooms early and holds its flowers up well.

Pairs well with American Gold Rush black-eyed Susan, Black Parrot tulip, and Princeton Sentry maidenhair tree.
