Notes

'Magic Carpet' thunberg spirea (Spiraea thunbergii 'Magic Carpet') is a shrub for borders and low maintenance hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast into a low, arching mound with red, yellow-green, and bronze leaves. Pink flowers open in spring and again in early summer, and butterflies visit them.

Pairs well with Dalmatian bellflower, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Cytherea peony.
