Notes

'Cytherea' peony (Paeonia 'Cytherea') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The fragrant rose-red blooms attract butterflies and bees. Saunders bred it, and A.P. Saunders introduced it in 1953. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Blue Muffin arrowwood viburnum, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
