Notes

'Malling Jewel' raspberry (Rubus idaeus 'Malling Jewel') is a shrub for food gardens, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its arching canes bloom in spring and summer, and the flowers draw butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer rarely make it their first choice. The fruit is the main reward, so plant it where you can pick it easily.

Pairs well with Empire apple, Chokeberry, Calendula, and Big bluestem.
