Notes
'Mancunian' Japanese iris (Iris ensata 'Mancunian') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and wet soil. It blooms from early to late summer, so it adds color for many weeks. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Plant it where the soil stays damp, such as the edge of a rain garden.
Pairs well with Sweet flag, Ironweed, and Red October big bluestem.
