Notes

'Marcia Dewey' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Marcia Dewey') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double flowers are a deep black red and bloom in early summer. Their color does not fade, and they have a light fragrance. Mrs. Walter Campbell Lyman bred it.

Pairs well with Switchgrass, Blue sage, and Wild ginger.
