Notes
'Margarita BOP' foothill beardtongue (Penstemon heterophyllus 'Margarita BOP') is a perennial for borders, containers, and xeriscape gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Purple to blue flowers open in spring and again in summer. Hummingbirds and bees visit them, and the plant stays evergreen.
Pairs well with Silver sage, Fountain grass, and Wormwood.
