Notes

'Marianne' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Marianne') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type flowers are medium size and Tyrian pink, with pink-tinged staminodes edged in yellow. They open mid season and are held high above the foliage. Eivind Hansen bred it.

Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Sweet William, and Cinnamon fern.
