Notes

'Marie Elizabeth' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Marie Elizabeth') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The clear medium red flowers are double, with some stamens mixed in and a few yellow edged petalodes. Blooms open in mid to late spring on good stems with good foliage. Walter J. Guille bred it.

Pairs well with Sweet William, Scentara Double Blue lilac, and Royal fern.
