Notes

'Marta' peony (Paeonia 'Marta') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The tall stems carry fragrant, full double flowers in deep mahogany red that attract bees and butterflies. Prof. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with June hosta, PowWow White coneflower, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Cheerfulness daffodil.
