Notes

'Masayoshi' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Masayoshi') is a shrub for borders, woodland gardens, and pollinator plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun and average to wet soil. It grows slowly into a columnar evergreen that tolerates salt. Flowers appear in winter and spring, and bees and birds visit them. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Oakleaf hydrangea, Japanese forest grass, and American hornbeam.
