Notes

Mexican columbine (Aquilegia skinneri) is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and butterflies and bees visit the flowers. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Plants grow 12 to 36 inches tall.

Pairs well with Bowl of Cream peony, Sensitive fern, and Spanish bluebell.
