Notes

'Minerva' rose of sharon (Hibiscus syriacus 'Minerva') is a shrub for hedges and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil. Its lavender blooms have a dark red eye, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit them. It grows fast and tolerates drought and salt. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with American holly, Big bluestem, and Yellow iris.
